Bruce Woolley – Solo Out Now News
Legendary songwriter-producer Bruce Woolley has officially announced the long-awaited digital release of the 1978 original Everblue Music recording of “No Surrender” — featuring cellos, slap bass and his own vocal performance – now issued via Good Time Records on all major streaming platforms. In his own words: “Out today!! Hooray! This brings me a disproportionate amount of joy! … This is the final piece of the jigsaw puzzle for ‘English Garden Expanded’ — which is now fully available as a digital download.”
The news marks a significant milestone for Woolley, whose influence spans from The Camera Club to Grace Jones to cutting-edge electronic ensembles. The release of this archival track completes a creative cycle that began over forty years ago, offering fans rare insight into Woolley’s early vision and the evolution of his sound.
The song originally appeared under the name The Killers (not the U.S. band of the same name) when Woolley was credited as a featured vocalist; this new digital edition properly credits Woolley and brings the piece into the modern streaming ecosystem for the first time.
Available now across all DSPs, the track is part of the expanded English Garden archive, now available in full. Listeners familiar with Woolley’s classic co-writing of “Video Killed the Radio Star” will find in “No Surrender” a deeper, rawer expression of his songwriting craft — with orchestral textures and bold production choices that pre-figured much of his later work.
Fans, DJs, radio programmers and curators are encouraged to explore this release and share it across their platforms. Woolley’s name is once again at the forefront of music history, but with fresh relevance and digital accessibility.
